My LS1 swap

Stock pan fits fine, Ill know more when the mounts are in this afternoon, but I have 5" of ground clearance. Im running the stock heads, which flow the same as the Z06 vette heads, just larger chambers. Im using the Edelbrock 2216 cam , edelbrock 800 carb, ls6 springs. If you buy a truck 6.0 with the HD 4l80 trans it already has the spacer and correct flywheel.
all these LSX swaps really make want to do one...i would have to do a 4.8 tho

MSD makes a box to control the ignition with a carbetuter

If you can't afford a 6.0 you can put a 4" stroker crank into a 4.8 or 5.3 block and bore it to 3.900 and make a 383. Or just use a stock 5.3 crank (4.8 is smaller) and you'll have a cast iron 5.7.
Took it for a ride, the timing pills are tricky, but after playing around I found what the motor likes, it pulls awesome, If I dont shift at 7000 it would climb even higher, thats even with 3.42 gears, which should be perfect on the bottle in the 1/4. I dont know why anyone wiould build an old school V8
