Okay, so I put the 15x8 with a 4.5BS Pro Star on my Malibu and I have literally 1" between the wheel and frame. YIKES!
I'm now thinking that the MT ET Street 275/60/15 is not going to fit as the sidewall section = 11.1"s and tread = 8.9". What do you guys think?
Looking at the MT ET Street 255/50/15, the tire dimensions are just about the same (Sidewall Section = 10.7" & Tread = 8.8"). Are these manufacturer dimensions accurate or do they run smaller/bigger? So should I go with the 275's or the 255's? Thanks.

I would kill for 1" of clearance I can barely fit my pinky inbetween mine. There are probably hundreds of posts on fitting the size tire you want and they do fit but you may have a little to much backspacing. nothing a little spacer wouldn't solve

When I say 1", I'm talking between the actual rim and frame, now put on a 275/50/15 and I'm lucky to have 1/4" clearance. From what I'm reading, I might be better off with a 3.5bs. Does anyone run this setup on their Malibu? 15x8 3.5bs with a 275/50/15? any rubbing? Does the tire stick out from the wheel well too much? Thanks.

I agree no way 4.5 would fit that tire on my car with a stock frame. 4 inch seems to be ideal but most aluminum rims only come in half sizes.

Looks like I'll have to go with a 255/60/15 on the 4.5BS OR a 3.5BS with the 275/50/15. Then again, I could sell the Pro Stars and go with Centerlines that have a 4"BS. I may even spring for a set of Weld Aluma Stars with a 4"BS? What do you guys suggest? I can't wait until this wheel/tire stuff is over! Thanks.

I have now 15x8 Weld with 4,5BS, and 275/50 nitto drag radials, it fits well.
Now changing the rears for 5,5BS, when installing the 12 bolt rear.

You may still rub with the 255's on turns. I would run a small spacer or notch the frame instead of sacrificing tire size.
