wich heads would be better? i am eventually getting vortec's but for now i have these 2 sets laying around and i want to get my car running... so, wich would be better, 95 model truck heads, or close chamber 305 heads. not sure the year on the 305 heads, just know they have a smaller chamber to bump compression. combo is 95 truck 350, performer intake (because i have it), 700/750ish vacuum carb, truck cam (till i get vortec heads), 1 5/8 headers. thanks

Do you have an intake manifold purchased already?

The center 2 intake bolts on each head are angled differently than pre-fuel injected heads, so you'll either need to buy a specific intake (which you're gonna need to do when you buy vortec heads, anyway) or hog out the center holes so the bolts clear ok.

If you've already got an intake, good to go. But if you've gotta buy an intake, you might just wanna save up a little and buy the Vortec heads, and only have to buy one intake instead of two.

Unless you're going to get the RHS vortec's with the dual-drilled intake pattern.
