Right now I have weld draglites with 15x8 rear and 15x4 fronts. Don't really care for the skinny front look but I got a deal by swapping some parts to a buddy for them. I really want 17" wheels but I can't spend the money for them. So I'm thinking about some rally wheels 15x8 and 15x7 or 15x6. I can reuse my tires as I have 255/60-15 rears and 195/60-15 fronts. The 195's will fit up to a 7" rim and if I had to could maybe buy some bigger front tires. Which brings up the next question what size front tire with "squished" front springs( about 2" lower courtesy of a iron head BBC).

I have several Malibus with 15 x 7 fronts and 15 x 8 rear Rallys on them. I run 255/60/15's on the rear and 235/60/15's on the front. I do get a slight rub in the front with the steering lock to lock and turning around in a tight space. I have 4" backspacing on all wheels.

I do have an El Camino that I can not run 235/60/15's on the front because it has Trick Springs in it and now the ride height is much lower which results in a major rub when turning.

The only issue I see with rallys is how big of a front tire you can run. I would think that your 195/60's would be fine. Maybe a 215/65/15 like was run on the MC SS cars.

Im afraid 235/60 wouldn't fit with the front being low. I'm sure I could reuse the 195/60 or maybe go to a 215/65 as they are proably somewhat cheap. The next question should a run a derby cap with trim ring or a disc brake cap and no trim rings?

The disc brake caps are lighter but I personally like the Derby's on my street driven Bu's. Derby caps are everywhere at swap meets which makes them very affordable for me and I like that look.

Summit has the plastic derby caps free with the purchase of 4 wheel vintiques 15" rally wheels. I can get all 4 with derby caps and trim rings for just under $400.

Here is a link to a snap of mine with 15" rallys.
