whenever I go to press my E-brake, the pedal just comes back out, i am already assuming the teeth that click are gone, or are there any other things I need to check out, and what is to be done to get this fixed?

just some ideas not questioning yo skills
make sure the release cable is in the return position also ck the mechanism that pulls the stop is also in the return position and if all else fails im sure someone will darn near give you one better yet you can have mine lol everything else is gone for the e brake except the petal assm

Yeah'd I check the release cable, I had the same problem...it can also get stuck in the down position if the thing is out of wack. Also if something came loose on the botom of the car maybe it could have cause the problem, just a thought.
