190 for a new header.
The hyd setup is a mismatch of parts. Keisler throwout bearing (out of a Ford Explorer or pickup). F-Body slave, and John Bdzel pedals. Very little pedal movement and there are some precise measurements that needed to take place to make it work or the throwout bearing could get ruined. I am limited on pedal travel... cannot have too much.

Here are a few pics of the installation. It would seem I have done this before a few times, yet this time was different. The motor after I pulled it and reinstalled it did not sit the same way... it did not rock back like it used too. So I used a 2x4 and rocked it back a little. I also borrowed a transmission jack. Wow, it makes life SO MUCH EASIER on me. I had in the past used my regular jack with the little pad and ballanced the transmission with one hand and pumped the handle with my leg to raise it. Then I would slide it and wiggle it until it went in... and it never would go in straight. This transmission jack had nice adjustments to make it very easy. The best part was I didnt drop the transmission on my chest like I have three times before. Always leaves a mark too.

I have been there too. I make sure the jack handle is in the driveshaft tunnel and then operate it with my leg while looking at the gap between the transmission and the bellhousing to see when it is even. Then the trick is to push on the transmission, not the jack, or you end up wearing the transmission.

With the Saginaw there wasn't really a flat spot, so I had to hold on to both to make sure they moved. The hardest part was getting the tailshaft up past the OE driveshaft 'loop', then I had to get it lined up with the clutch plate/pilot bearing. After that it was cake.

Took the car for a good long shake down today. Banged some gears hard. Did a 1st gear burnout then powershifted to 2nd spun through second and then tried 3rd. It spun all of third. It never did that before.
I also let a young guy at my work drive it. Its a scary car in the passenger seat!! I was also a little frightened whn he down shifted from 5th into 1st at 50mph. I could hear the synchros screaming for mercy.

Jeff neglected to mention the outcome.

Did he manage to fully engage 1st gear and let out the clutch? or did you take charge before disaster struck? At 50, you were well above redline!
