I would like to drop my RPM a little on the occassion I need to drive on the interstate. I currently have 245/60/15 tires on the back. I wanted to make sure I was thinking right on this. I first thought a taller tire would decrease my RPM but now I am not sure. Taller or shorter to decrease RPM at say 60 ? :-k

A taller tire will lower your cruising rpm. Search google for an rpm calculator. you can enter different tire heights and see what the effect on engine rpm will be.

Note a taller tire will also slow acceleration some. Depending on what gear you have will affect the difference you "feel".

Tires can fine tune your rpm dont expect to it lower your rpm alot. It can vary a few hundred depending on the outter diamater height. You may also consider that a different tire will also effect your speedometer reading.
