no second gear

my car shifts from low directly into third, just has no second gear, has firm shift, is my transmission fuct? th350

are you in low or 2nd. i had a 350 that worked good untill i got on it and it would go from 1st to 2nd and 3rd wright away.never fixed it i whent with a th400.

Might be the vacuum modulator causeing this, does it have a good vacuum source?
