Slowing a car 7 tenths is gonna be pretty tough to do if your keeping the same engine combination.
Retarding timing works to some degree, but if you take too much out the engine doesn't run "happy" and you can hurt the engine. I tried taking 4 to 5 tenths out to run 10.0 stuff and the engine just wasn't happy, so I gave up. Plugs has some minor peppering and upon tear down to freshen I found a partially blown head gasket reinforcing that the engine wasn't in a happy state of tune.

I asked about a tenth or two with nitrous and those I spoke with felt that would be difficult to achieve and keep the combination consistent.
