The harness I'm using came out of a parts car and the terminals have been cut were they attach to the solenoid, so as long as I have to attach some new terminals , I thought replacing the fusible links at the same time might be a good idea since I have the harness on the work bench. Question is...Am I better off wiring in fuses or breakers vs the fusible links?

The idea of a fusible link is a safety feature of the last resort. It is not intended to ever be used in normal operation. A fuse is not really meant for that location. Dirt, oil & water can all get in the fuse holder, causing you a problem at probably just the wrong time. If you want to replace them, go ahead and use new fusible link material.

Ok, so it does not really go by amps but gauge of wire...and parallel connectors, that's new to me.
Excellent, Thanks ScotSea.
