Could it be your ignition switch on the column, kind of a shot in the dark, but if it isn't adjusted or if it is malfunctioning it could cause this

Sounds to me like the solenoid is stuck many of those ford style solenoids there making now are cheap china junk. Once they stick there toast get a new one. Low battery voltage causes them to stick most times.Get a constant duty solenoid and you shouldn't have any more problems.

Yeah, my uncle and I figured it wouldn't hurt to just buy another solenoid. What about Delco or Prestolite continuous duty solenoids?

Should work fine. Just make sure its rated to enough amps to handle the job.

I've seen 50A, 80A, 85A, all the way up to 300A. This may be a dumb question, but does it have to be a 12v solenoid? Will a 24v solenoid also work?

Ok, new remote solenoid is on, power to stereo, but nothing from the starter when I turn the switch. I don't see anything wrong with the wiring under the hood, fuse box or under the dash.....

That's my next step. If it doesn't start the factory way, it should be my ignition (purple) wire, right?
