SBC Engine buying decision ???'s

I have a chance at buying 1 of 2 SBC engines,the first is a complete SBC 400(509)castings with a Edelbrock aluminum intake, Edelbrock chrome valve covers and a NEW looking Edelbrock carb with a longtail 350 turbo trans attached to it,I remove one of the valve covers and it looks clean on the 882 head,mileage unknown and suppose to be in good running and drop in condition,engine and trans for $750,next is a remain. SBC 350 crate engine in the crate with intake and heads only,I think it is just a base SBC 350 engine have not checked casting numbers yet, can get the crate engine for $950,which do you think is the best deal?THANKS

The SBC 350 remain block was a 010 block with 267/305 heads on it have anyone ever seen this type of sbc remain engine if so whats the specs on this engine?THANKS

400 was a good choice

Yeah cranked 400 on the stand and it runs great,will be doing upgrades soon I hope,heads,cam,etc.
