On paper the T-56 is the strongest factory stock manual trans.

I may very easily be wrong, but I think the Muncie's stronger. Maybe we can say the T56 is the strongest factory OVERDRIVE transmission?

I agree with you 100% there is no way a T56 is stronger than a Muncie M22.

But on paper the T56 has the highest HP rating.

With the LS1 style T-56 you can use everything you have with that adapter plate.

Just swap the trans.

You will need to modify or a different Xmember.

With the T56, you don't have provisions for a mechanical speedometer without an expensive modification. The tailhousing can be sent away for modification. I am not sure if the aftermarket 3rd gen F body T56 tailhousing will work or not; I am not sure of the length.
