i was impressed with the quality of the welds on the ones i got, we will see how the hold up, i will flog this car for all it's worth, i've got a 5.3 and a t56 in it now, so i'm pretty sure i will stress them enough to get a good opinion of their quality....

I would use the ub machine arms. Ive got alot of miles on mine with no problems. Some of them hard miles. I think you need different brake lines too for the conversion. goto montecarloss.com this topic has been abused there alot.

My calipers, spindles, pads, and rotors are all from a 1990 Caprice cop car.

The UB Machine part numbers are: 14-0809-5r and 14-0809-5

From Global West's web site:
"The following donor cars provide 11-inch disc brake spindles:

Apollo 1975 GMC Sprint 1973-1977 Pontiac Full Size 1977-1981
Buick Full Size 1977-1981 Grand Prix 1973-1977 Pontiac Lemans 1973-1977
Buick Century 1973-1977 Monte Carlo 1973-1977 Riveria 1977-1978
Camaro 1970-1981 Nova 1974-1979 Seville 1976
Chevelle 1973-1977 Olds Cutlass 1973-1979 Skylark 1975-1979
Chevy Full Size 1977-1981 Omega 1975-1979 Ventura 1975-1977
Firebird 1970-1981 Phoenix 1977-1979

Most of the brake parts can be found at the wrecking yard. Be sure to check the spindles where the wheel bearings rest. Make sure there are no signs of galling or grooves. Check the ball joint holes for damage making sure the tapers are not out of round.

Important--- If you are going to use an 11-inch disc brake from one of the above listed cars. You will need to change the rotor wheel studs over to 12mm. All cars listed above originally came with 7/16 wheel studs.

For 12-inch disc brake spindles use:

Buick Full Size- Le Sabre Wagon / Electra Wagon 1977-1994 Cadillac Fleetwood and Deville 1977-1984 // Brougham and Fleetwood 1985-1994 Chevy Full Size 1977-1996 Caprice, Impala, Belair, Biscayne
Olds Delta 88, Delta 88 Wagon and Olds 98 / 1977-1992 Pontiac Full Size Bonneville, Catalina, Grandville 1977-1986

We have ran into two different types of 12-inch disc brake spindles. One version uses a small outer bearing measuring .750. The second type uses a larger outer bearing measuring .850. Use the large diameter outer bearing spindle.
Note: Bring a tape measure with you to the wrecking yard because many of these vehicles also can with 11-inch brakes. Most rotors off of (B) cars have a 5 on 5 bolt pattern. You have a 4 3/4 bolt pattern, so you will not need the original rotors. Use 12-inch rotors off of a 1988-1992 1LE Camaro/Firebird GM part # GM 18016035. This is all you will need off of the 88-92 Camaro/Firebird. 1LE rotors have the correct bolt pattern and use 12mm studs.
The brake caliper we use are off of 1970-1976 Camaro/Firebirds. These calipers are the right width for 1LE rotors. Use an 1-1/8 master cylinder with power brakes and a 1-inch master for manual. If you own a Turbo Coupe, you will probably have a Power Master unit. You do not have to change this unit.
We use an adjustable proportioning valve rather than a standard valve. This is our choice for increasing rear brake pressure. Your standard proportioning valve will work."

Hmm, I was told my spindles and rotors and everything were for a 1990 Caprice. I have the 12" ones. I do not have calipers yet, but the guy I bought the stuff off said to get 1990 Caprice calipers.

Now you are talking about Camaro stuff.... what do I need to get here?

The Caprice rotors will have a 5x5 bolt pattern, which would require different wheels. You currently have a 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern. The 1LE Camaro rotors have the 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern which would save you from buying new wheels. The Caprice calipers may work with either rotor, but I'm not 100% positive on that. Maybe some cross checking at your local parts store would answer that for sure. I used the 70-76 Camaro calipers on mine with the 1LE rotors.

If I were you I would get the 88-92 1LE rotors and 70-76 Camaro calipers and pads. The rest of the stuff you have will work (spindles, dust shields etc..)

Hmm... well I just bought new rims. I'll see if they fit the rotors I have. If not, I'll sell them and get the Camaro ones!

What is the list price for the Camaro rotors and calipers?
