Flex plate bolts

I just bought an internal balance tci flex plate for my new 383 sbc. Its currently drilled for 3/8" torque converter bolts, but said you can drill them out to 7/16". When would you need to consider doing this?

It depends on your torque converter mounting tabs. I drilled mine when i got a tci converter because it took the larger bolts.
