Do metric200 & 200r use the same speedo drive

I am boucing around the idea of puting a set 3.73 in front of a METRIC200 trans.

Checked and found a M200 never has 3.73z behind it.

In 87/88 the 200r did.

So can I order/install the drive from a 200r application so the speedo/odo reads correct?

You will need approximately 3:1 ratio. Depending on what is in the car now, there may not be a driven gear available that will fit, but there are always adapters.

What rear gear is in the car now? I can look up the possibilities.

The F body with T5 and 3.73 had a 7-tooth drive gear and 21-tooth driven gear (3:1 ratio).

The driven gear in the TH200-4R is unique, but the one from the other hydramatics are the same.

It looks like the drive gear is the same for 200, 200C, 250, 250C, 350 and 350C. There 2 different series of gears: a smaller diameter drive gear/larger diameter driven gear and a larger diameter drive gear/smaller diameter driven gear.

I don't think you can do it without an adapter, at least using the gears available from TCI. I also can't find a 3:1 set from GM either.
