ok so im trying to get the rest of my parts lined up for my swap. My bellhousing will only allow the 153 tooth flywheel. This is mainly a street car with maybe a trip to the strip once or twice a year (1.5hours away). So i dont see the big need for an sfi approved flywheel.

i was looking @ this flywheel

and wondering if it is what i should be using or if i should look elsewhere

also i notice that it specifies 10.4" clutch. now ive seen 10.4 and 10.5" clutches and some people say they are the same thing. i just want to be straight on everything.

for a clutch i was looking @ this"

i will be running a 26 spline input muncie m20

so anyways any input would be greatly appreciated. BTW we are looking at the small block hopefully being in the mid 400 hp range

Spend the money on a good one. If you plan on running it at the track, invest in a steel flywheel. It's not worth having one break. Especially if you don't have a steel bellhousing.

My Nova will NEVER see the track. It has about a 400 hp 355 with RAM steel flywheel, RAM street/strip clutch and a Hays Steel bellhousing. I have seen clutches and flywheels come apart that took out the dashboard and I have seen the ones that get caught in the bellhousing. I am a little cautious when it comes to this stuff. I do get on it from a roll and shift it as hard as I can without powershifting. Even the Malibu in the sig, had the same stuff in it. It made about 465 hp, and never went to the track.

so which of these flywheels would be best for use with the clutch listed at the top. its been a pain trying to compare the centerforce, ram and mcleod products

Any of the them are fine for your application. I used the Hays in my Malibu. 153 tooth 30 lbs. I had even pieced the clutch together. It was a Hays street/strip disk with a Ram competition diaphragm pressure plate.
