Very well could be 55-57 those appear to be the ears for the bell mounted engine mounts. The steel bell was also used in trucks thru the 60's I beleive. The nice thing about them is the starter mounts to the bell so if ya have a block with broken starter ears these can be a life saver.

pre 57

1 mount hole on each side means it is from a truck, 2 holes means car

Sold a car one on ebay for big bucks!!

55-56 ball stud installs from the inside 57 installs from the outside

What are the numbers on it?

truck housings are cheap

car housing are the ones that sell

Now that i look at it again, it looks more like an aftermarket bell modeled after the 57

Especaily since there is an RC casted into it.

RC was an aftermarket bellhousing and scatter shield company back in the day.

Here you can see the differences between yours and a factory peice

You may or may not be missing a peice as well

more like a boat anchor since the guy drilled and welded crap on it

But none the less a nice peice for someone doing a rat rod or an old resto

I would not trash it

the only thing i see welded on were the ears on sides the bolted on a bracket to the housing for a slave cylinder thinking the ears might be the way it was from the start seeing its aftermarket
