BBC Coolant bypass hose

I saw some photos and some guys aren't running them. I thought this was manditory on a BBC street car. Looking for advice or experiences!!

If you run an electric pump then you dont need it, but otherwise you should.

I run a restrictor disk not a thermostat so I don't run the by pass hose. Takes forever to warm up but thats OK for me. If you drill a couple decent sized holes in your thermostat you can get rid of the by pass hose also.

I have not run one for the two years I have had my motor. Never had any trouble. Run a regular thermostat too. Maybe I am wrong. Everything seems to be ok.
