you should be able to run the same PCM as any of the LS equipped t56 cars.
From everything I've been reading to do this the wiring harness is different as well as the PCM. I think I am going to just use a 2010 Camaro harness and PCM if I don't go for a standalone wiring harness. I am converting my L92 to hybrid LS3. Swapping all the pulleys to the LS3 setup so I can just used a Camaro VIN# when ordering parts. Hope this helps. I'm sure someone else will chime in eventually
I cant comment on the VVT stuff, but the T56 side of it is simple. Any ECM should do. You'll just "turn off" the auto trans stuff. Dont worry about the reverse lockout, just muscle it into reverse, thats what I do. You get used to it quick.
I don't beleive you can use VVT with a manual transmission. However it's very simple to switch to a standard cam setup. Lifters, valley cover, cam and timing set
