I've been looking thru the links trying to find parts for a sunroof on a 79. I can't find anything. Anybody know if there is even parts available?? It's a factory power sliding sunroof...

I always thought the sunroofs were a dealer installed option because i've never seen two alike. My dad has a sunroof in his '79 Diablo and it looks more dearler than factory. I think that if you can find a place that sells sunroofs you can come up with enough parts to make it work and look like its supposed to.

I'm pretty sure it's factory. I had one in a 78 when I was in FLA, one I'm looking at is in NYS, and they are the same. Also saw one in a GP, same thing....

My info tells me only the 78 & 79 Malibu Coupes could get the RPO CA1 electric sliding steel sky roof. No other years list it as an OEM RPO option, so if you have a glass sunroof or it's not a 78 or 79, it's not OEM & getting parts will be tough. It listed for $499 in 78 & $529.00 in 79. I don't have productuion figures for 78, but it was installed in .2% of all the 79 Malibu coupes (roughly 205 cars).

The 78 that I had and the 79 I'm looking at both had the steel roof. Funny, was looking the Canadian page, didn't list the 78 as having one, and went to the 80s...

After looking at that link, there is a local dealer that supposedly can get parts for them. But I can't do #### till I sell some stuff and then decide if I want to get the car. But, least know where to go...

I called the dealer and they say they need to look at it. Right now all I'm really after is weather stripping. Even then the morons can't find anything.

Well I lucked out big time today. Guy I bought the car from has some extra parts that he needed to get out of storage. Been a week, I work in the area so thought I'd drop in. He said he didn't get a chance to get the parts, but hands me brand new weather stripping for the sunroof!!!!! One down still many to go....

I have an entire roof assembly from a parts car available if anyone would be interested. It has the RPO CA1 Electric sky roof option, fully in tact.
