Installed my headers and made a new exhaust for the stocker. Just did crush-bent with a chopped down chambered pipe for a muffler sounds crazy

Spent 3 hours removing the paint and primer from the top of my new gas tank. Used a heat gun and a scraper, plus some acetone. After 3 weeks of letting the paint harden, I could scrape it down to the bare metal with my fingernail. Valspar is now in the same category as Rust-oleum. I will never buy either paint again. Going to use some 2K automotive epoxy primer and paint for it now. Or, have it powder coated. Wish somebody made a stainless tank for a wagon.

TL;DR - fan clutch died, working on electric fan install

Don't think I updated here... the fan clutch started to take a dump - originally run on the 4.3 in my '92 GMC, then on the 383 in the same truck - so I swapped the fans between it and the Malibu since it also has the same serpentine setup, and I wasn't driving the Malibu, only starting occasionally for fluid circulation.

Fast forward & I've done some stuff on the Malibu, and really want to drive it, so I get a temporary AZ permit. Drove it probably 100-200 miles and started hearing a squawking noise under the hood, sounded like a bearing - worried it was the water pump, turned out to be the fan clutch. It had freed up and was running ok on the car until the last 50 miles or so. Pulled the fan off, and currently in the process of installing a Hayden fan I got from Autozone some ??? years ago... I also have an adjustable temp switch that will control a relay, but I'm thinking I'll just get a factory style temp switch at around 165-180º to run the relay. All in the name of driving this thing in my wedding

I have little rust-like looking spots showing through on my frame, I used one of Eastwood's kits - name escapes me at the moment. I don't know if I failed on the prep work or what, but for fit & finish I can't say I'm too impressed - though I'm not a body man & may have messed up somewhere in the process... it was quite humid in Michigan, maybe I rushed the process? I gave it at least the specified dry time for each of the steps so I don't know :(

Oh... hey... you have an engine in that thing! :D PS I want to do something very similar to that with mine.

I'm hoping my dad will do this in the near future when we finally get everything moved into the big barn... he has a LOT of random sockets - also has a lot of other stuff in a big toolbox he bought but it's all literally stuffed inside... needs some more room!!!
