temp and a/c control mdule?

hi there i have a probleme whit my 1986 monte carlo ss my control module for the a/c and positions of the vent doe not work i disconnected the vacum hose and i am getting no air leaks or no vacum anyone know where it gets its vacum source on the motor?? where do i have to connect it so it works ??? i know its a platic purple hose next to the heater box in the engine bay but where doe it have to be pluged in thanks in advance for you help!!!

This is the vacuum diagram from my 80 229 V6. I know it's probably not identical to your 86, but it gives you a rough idea of what goes where.

There's a hard, black plastic vacuum line that goes from the vacuum reservoir "ball' on the blower box to the intake manifold. It's not shown on the diagram, but it comes from the ball to a fitting on the intake manifold. The line has an approximately 1/4" rubber boot on the end for the manifold fitting.
