ok i know this subject is beat to death but here goes. i have 15x7 rally wheels i need to know if someone will post some pics of their rallys with 275/60 15 tires. i am up in the air as to go with 255 or 275 tires. everything is stock nothing trimmed nothing notched. some say 275 will rub others say need to trim the lip. others say use 255 they will fill out more on a 7 inch wheel and dont have to worry about rubbing. yall help me out. thanks yall

If I had to do it over again, I would go with the 255/50/15. I like mine but it took a lot of work to get them to fit. I know that all cars are different and yours may just bolt in. They are a bit tall too, makes the car have a lot more rake than I was after. But, they are sticky as all get out and the back end looks perfect for a street car.

First of all (some will disagree) but a 275/60/15 does not belong on a 15x7 wheel. It needs a wider rim or you'll wear the center of the tread out faster than the sides.

Next, a 275/60 will be a tight fit if the car is lowered at all, and will probably rub the frame, 1/4 panel, or both.

IMO, go with a 255/60 if you don't want to trim anything and are set on a 15x7 wheel.

Then why did the 454SS truck get the 275/60 + 15x7 treatment?

BTW I'd probably run a 255 on a 7-8" wheel myself.

255/25.4=10" tread width
277/25.4=10.8" tread width

I thought the chrome wheels on the 454SS trucks were 15x8? Don't know, never owned one.

The screw head rubs half way down the side tread to give you an idea where the tire hits on harsh bumps and a full tank of fuel w/passengers.
