hey guys, i know this is probably a stupid question but im gonna ask anyways. i am converting my bu from an automatic to a manual, i have a 78 chevy 350 with the original crankshaft. i have read on some website that all crankshafts for the 1st gen small blocks have the hole drilled out for the pilot bushing. my question is, is this true? the end of my crankshaft looks to be domed with no pilot hole. idk if i need some kind of adapter or if this is just some kind of cap that goes on the back of the crankshaft that goes with an automatic transmission. the car had a th350 when i bought it and i am converting it to a muncie m21.

That's it, just gets pressed in (hammered) and sits flush with the hole. Just make sure you get a good bushing, that is NOT magnetic. Cheap ones have a large amount of iron in them.
