I'm looking at buying a used factory GM roller cam with 155 cpc bc 11 stamped on it. Can anybody help me ID its application and specs? It is for a SBC.

Dont bother, from what I found its a stock cam from an LO3 motor (305 TBI) and its crap. It should be gm pn 10088155
scroll down the bottom of this page for the specs, its the second one listed under "GM stock cams" http://www.thirdgen.org/mods3
BTW I found all this in 10 seconds with google.

305 AT LB9 10088155* 0.35 0.384 179 194 109 (108/-112)

Often called the peanut TPI cam. 179 intake duration, 194 exhaust 109 LCA.

The two possible projects I had in mind for the cam are:
1. 89 Chevy truck 350 motor in my Lemans, with a carb or TBI, performer, shorty headers, 2004R.

2. 89 Chevy truck 305 for use in a C1500 with TBI. Pretty much stock. Needs a rebuild, so I may get a little creative with it.

If this cam is not a good candidate can you guys suggest one? I want to go roller and may need to have the option of a mechanical fuel pump. For either application I would want to stay fairly mild. Efficiency- good power and economy are what I'm looking for.

The stock L98 roller cam might not be too bad:

305 5spd / 350 AT 14093643 0.404 0.415 202 207 114.5

I have a TPI Vette, and the gas mileage with this cam is pretty good. I bought a ZZ4 cam, and might try that too. Just a little more intake duration (208), but even more exhaust duration (221). Lots more lift.

If you are looking for a cheap cam, I would bet that you could get the stock L98 cam above pretty cheap. The ZZ4 might cost more, but offers a little more performance. Just what are you goals?

Scot,

I usually build motors for torque. My goal is to improve performance and mileage. Nothing radical, very streetable. My baseline is a stock TBI truck motor.

What is you opinion of the LT1 cam? A friend has one, new in the box. He bought it when he was planning a stock rebuild on his Camero but went more radical.

This one?
12551705 Hyd. Roller 201/208 .447"/.459" 112 95 to '96 Gen II LT1 350, w/center dowel pin

Pretty mild, but a lot better than the peanut cam you mentioned earlier. About the same duration as the L98 cam, but more lift, and 3 degree closer LSA, at 112. Should work great in a street 350.

Thanks for the info Scot.

I was just thinking about the peanut today. Its supposed to be a 305 TBI cam. As I understand it the TBI trucks all have flat lifters. Did some of the F-bodies or other cars have roller TBI motors?
