I haven't broken mine yet... I don't run sticky tires either, and I wouldn't, not on a stock rear. Before I put stickies on I would put the proper precautions in... 28 spline axles, good posi, and a rear support cover. If I could I'd get that stuff used, would save on a budget for sure.

I purchased this about 8 yrs ago & never used it in my car. I believe it's 4.10 gear.

Lots of luck floating around here. Back in the mid 90s I shelled out 2 7.5's behind a wore out smog 455. Swapped in an a-body 8.5 and been happy ever since... :D

Hmm, ten years on running my 7.5 through the gears at the track. Best 60ft was a 1.52 lifting both tires off the line. I am running 28x12.5x15 Mickey Street E.T's with 16psi. I constantly dip into the 11.90's with it. I know a few running them and haven't grenaded them yet. I have stock axels and only an Auburn LS carrier in it. The carrier is starting to show it's age but the rear is still perfect. I do however have a 12 bolt from a 69 Chevelle with 33 spline axels, full spool, and c-clips waiting to go in one day. I guess I am living on borrowed time (10 years now) with this rear. LOL

yeah but is it worth it to grenade a rear and smack the wall at the track! you have a really nice car with a good amount of $ tied up in it! why take a chance?
