Some looking in the parts section got me thinking... is there a dust shield that will fit a G-Body bellhousing with a 1-piece rms motor? The one I was using with the old 305 won't fit properly because of the lip on the oil pan. I was thinking maybe a later F-Body one, but I don't know for sure if there's anything that's simply bolt-in (what is anymore?).

I used a 1-piece seal F body cover and redrilled some of the holes to match my bellhousing.

Alternatively, a friend reshaped the seal area on a stock cover to fit (pictures on my website; bellhousing section).

I also cut out the area around the starter so I could remove the shield without removing the starter.

I was using one on my early 305, but the 1-pc. 350 has a different sized radius to the lip on the pan. My concern was where the cover met the pan because it's close to the rear main seal & the crank flange, otherwise I would've used it again.
