Well, since this thread was brought back up here's a picture of what I'm running now. These are 28x10.5 MT slicks mounted on 15x9's with 5.5 back space. Frame is notched and fender lip is gone.

Wheels/tires

I just put on a new setup.

Rear: 275/60/15 BFG T/As on 15x8 wheels with 3" backspacing. Probably could fit 3.5" backspacing. Frame rails are welded and also have air shocks to hold up the rear end. Stock fenders. Looks pretty good- wide, but does not stick out.

Front: 245/60/15 BFG T/As on 15x7 wheels with 4" backspacing. Fronts rub when turning; I need to order spacers sometime. Ideally, I would move these out about an inch on each side to give it a wider stance.

Rear frame rails notched to inside wall, mini-tubbed, fender lips rolled.
