IIRC the stock driveshaft is 51.5" and the driveshaft behind my 700 is 48.5". Would make sense since the 700 is 3" longer than a 350.

Do you have an 8.5" rear? Reason I ask is I recently shortened mine and stock was 52.5" centre to centre and I shortened it 3" for my T5 swap (same length as a 700-R4) down to 49.5". 48.5" would be correct for an 8.5" rearend, which needs to be 1" (0.99 to be exact) shorter.

I bought an 8.5" rear shortly after the T5 swap, so I have to shorten mine again! DOH!

I have a-body 8.5 which is mounted a hair farther back in the car so i was able to use a stock length driveshaft when I ran a t400.

Well its easier to make it shorter than longer. ;)
