If you backtape it properly there will be no tape lines.
Where the two meet, a little polishing compound and some elbow grease and they fade away.
It's not that difficult.

take them off you will get better paint job. First you paint all your jambs,trunk,underhood first, then next day the car. I even painted my three color and wrapped it around to the inside of the door also the trunk. It take more time and alot of people can't do it them selves so to have it done you end up haveing to pay out the you know what. There is some people like me out there just like to see things done right and not half *ss, and will take the time to make it look right. It's my name on that paint job!! It took 86 hours to paint my malibu and thats two of us. Post pics of insides of doors.

Just because someone does it different from the way you did, does not make it a half###
job.

look into 3m's transition tape,we use it at work it's better than foam tape ever was.
