To make things easier in the long run, I've been contemplating just changing the entire dash harness because I don't like cutting the wiring in places like under the dash for factory pieces (read: column wiring). I put in a column with wiper controls on the stalk, and the harness connection is completely different. Would the dash harness from, say, a mid-80s car with stalk-mounted wiper controls work with my '81 engine harness, or would I need to use the engine harness from the donor car as well?
