Hi everyone im in the process of having my motor built and I cant come up with a good choice. This will not be a full strip car more of a street car with maybe one or two trips to the strip just to see what it can do. Im looking to get around 10:5.1 compression and having a difficult time finding the correct pistond without breaking the bank. Not gonna be a high reving engine also. Ok this is what i got so far. Bottom end is pretty much all machined up except for pistons. Block is going to get bored 60 over. Cam is a comp 292h, 781 heads with bigger valves and some slight port and polish to help flow a little better, harland sharp roller rockers,torker2 intake, holley 850 on top. any hel or other info you guys might need please let me know. would like to get pistons this week and get this back on the road. thanks everyone.

Well, you most likely won't be able to run pump gas at 10.5:1...

I have the same heads and running just about 10:1 on 93 pump gas. Keith Black heuperutectic pistons, mild cam, balanced, blah blah. If only a mild street/strip they will be fine.

i would switch cams to a more modern grind and get howards EDM lifters. Forged TRW, probe, or SRP pistons and aim for 10 - 1 CR. Get a cam with 230 - 240 dur. @ .050 and you will have no problems running premium fuel.

I would switch cams but I already have the cam as it was givin to me for free and was brand new. A buddy of mine is running the same cam and honestly I like how mean it sounds. also my heads where already setup for the cam. Any part numbers on a specific piston?

I would use SRP pistons. I use them in all my street motors.

Think these are the ones that I used. IIRC builder said 9.8-9.9:1 ratio, 781/049 are 122-ish CC.

Thanks for the help looks like its gonna be the kb207-060. Looks to be a good match up. Also found them online new for just about 300 bucks. If anyone has a set they are looking to sell for cheaper please let me know as this is a total budget build and will be letting everyone know how it goes when finished. thanks again

Well as my luck would have it went and called the two places that had those kb207-060 pistons listed for right around 300 bucks and they are both out of stock and kb has them on back order for 6-8 weeks is what I was told. By chance if anyone out there has a set used or new they would like to sell for about 300 please let me know as I would like to get this motor built soon. thanks everyone

Update found a set of the kb207-060 from competition products. they said they have them. got them ordered up. only lace that had them and they price matched as best as they could. 373 and change to my door. not too bad as most places want 500 bucks for a set. cant wait to hear this motor fire for the first time.
