Indeed. There was a buildup that's been in a few different magazines, "The 3/4 350", they gt about 300hp from it, then one of the magazines put a supercharger on it and got 500hp from it. If I had the time/funds I think I would've tried a turbo 4.3 in my Sierra instead of the 383.

got the 4 bbl on, the carb is a bit much...found it at a swap meet, was supposed to be a 500, but thinking it may be a 600 or 650...it is an edelbrock thunder series avi, but its definitely more than the little v6 needs. but overall, it is still a major improvement over the 2 bbl! also got the 3.73 gear with an auburn gear posi spool, now that made it a different car altogether! it had a 2.41 gear, i thought it had a 2.73....its a fun little car to drive now! still got soome tweaking to do to the carb, new plugs, etc...but I'm happy with it now! although a 427 bb may be in the near future!

Your going to want like a 390 cfm.. or a quadrajet. And your gas mileage is going to be sh*t with those gears and no OD. Have you ever considered a 4 speed automatic swap? 200-4r's are cheap and its an easy swap!

when I get a chance, I'll check those numbers on the carb...carb works great, got it along with some other parts at a swap meet, so really not sure what it is. It looks just like the thunder series avs (vacuum secondaries) carb by elddy, but only has the weber name stamped on it. the guy said it was a 500, and I know that even that is a bit much, but when I back off, it wants to backfire, and at idle (in gear only) it wants to load up.
the 3.73 is also too much gear for the transmission, I'm assuming it is the th200...defenitly would like a 4 speed, that would help with the gear ratio. what did the 200 4r come in? and the 200 4r vs. the 700r4? which would be better? thanks for the info

seems the 9605s is a Carter avs...600 cfm...but I only see listings for manual chokes, mine is electric. The electric choke carb is 625 cfm, but has a different number than 9605s...either way, unless I can jet this one way down, I'll probably end up going smaller, but I hate Holley carbs, and no one else seems to have smaller than 500 cfms.
thanks for clueing me in on the id numbers, Doober...and 80eclt, i'd like too learn more about the 200 4r transmission if you have any more info to share

200 r4 can be found in most later model g bodies. Just make sure you get a chevy version so it bolts up to the engine. Some have a dual pattern and in that case youd be fine either way chevy or BOP
