700R4 swap????'s

I have a 1978 Monte Carlo with a turbo 350 trans and want to swap it for a 700R4 I have the shorter driveshaft but under the car I know the crossmember has to be moved back but there is no place on the frame for the crossmember to be moved back and bolted in any help with this crossmember location for the 700R4 trans?THANKS

use your stock crossmember in the stock location

If I do that the 700R4 trans mount will not bolt up to the crossmember the mount is like maybe 2 or 3 inches back.THANKS

Use the link he put up. I just did the same thing. Works perfectly. Just need to make anew slot and cut off the front to clear the pan.

So do you have to flip the xmember or what to get it to fit under the car and mount up,more info PLEASE?THANKS

Buy a tubular x member from iceman on here, nice pieces!! Much lighter than stock and better than the double hump versions offered by other companies...

Is that a new hole put in tne crossmember for the trans mount and what about the slot in the rear and was the original mount hole cut off?THANKS

take your crossmember and a ruler and messure it out.

it is a somewhat easy mod and works perfect with the stock mount part number 2360
