6al box testing?

MSD says to test with the white wire when using points (i am not) and jump the the green and purple wire with the others my question is that when using the white wire with a digital retard box to you test with the white wire or still use the green and purple wires? any help would be great thanks Tom

Unhook the purple and green wires from the dist.Put a plug in your coil wire and ground it.With power on use a paper clip to connect the green and purple wres monetarily and watch for spark as you break the connection.Do the white wire test if it doesn't fire this way(wires still disconnected from dist).I have seen many msd boxes that would not work on the mag trigger but would work off the white wire trigger.Evidently 2 completely independent trigger circuits.
