I have not done anything with the Painless harness yet other than lay it out. And the fit against the factory firewall hole is a good question. I am not certain how I want to deal with that. Thought about using the original pass through and rewiring it.

I am willing to part with the heads. They will be tough to ship. That's gotta be every bit of 150# or more in shipping weight.

I've a 75 K20 and the whole looks "similar" if not the same both need rewired. Haven't done any test fitting but eye balling looks promising

Id like them but don't need them yet.

Continuing to pick at it. Trans on one day engine on another. I spun the #7 rod bearing. They were stuck togther.

I see the problem!
I've never heard good things about those plain orange Fram filters, but the heavier duty ones are supposedly ok. I've always used Wix or AC on mine... not saying 100% that was your problem though, it's more they just don't filter as well and the internal bypass used to be a poor design.

More interior work. The headliner is 1/2" too long. Not the easiest install alone either.

What carb will you be using since you sold the 850?

I am going to put a Fitech EFI system on it. I bought the Mean Street version. Something new to learn.

I will probably run something like the EBL from DynamicEFI.com... it's a steeper learning curve, but I like to tinker, and it uses basically all the factory EFI parts (aside from a wideband O2), so I could keep it looking like a basically stock TBI SBC, or it'll run port injection should I choose that route. I'm not sure how flexible the aftermarket stuff is, but since I've already put the setup on my '92 pickup (454 TBI on a 383 with Vortec heads, mild cam) I'm confident I could get it to run whatever I have in the Malibu.
