4L60E for a Malibu

Your 4L60E torque converter will work in your 700R-4 as long as your 700R-4 is equipped with a 30-spline input shaft. 1982-1984 700R-4's are equipped with a 27-spline input shaft.

Ebay is probably your best source for speedo parts. PATC in Louisiana also stocks pretty much everything you need for speedo parts.

A 3.42 or 3.73 gear ratio would be a nice choice with your combination.

Bad luck, the converter has 27 spline and my 700r4 has 30, so i need to buy a new converter.
Where could i fine one, i need stock only, nothing fancy or with high stall speed. My transmission has a conector on the side, so i asume it has lock up for the converter.

I still have a doubt with the rear gears. The gears of the S-10 light truck are the same of the 1982 Malibu. I read that some time ago but i not sure. I ask this because there are many of those light trucks here in Chile and it would be cheaper buy those rather than buy on ebay...

Thanks...

Yes, the S10, G-Body, F-Body, and I believe even 7.5 gears from B-Bodies can be used.

4L60E's never used a 27-spline input shaft. Earlier in the thread you stated you had a 1992-1993 4L60E. This definitely would have had a 30-spline input shaft. Are you sure you're counting the right set of splines? All 700R-4, 4L60, 4L60E, 4L65E, and 4L70E transmissions feature a 27-spline stator support (the larger spline). 1982-1984 700R-4's feature a 27-spline input shaft (smaller spline). 1985-later 700R-4, 4L60, 4L60E, 4L65E, and 4L70E transmissions feature a 30-spline input shaft (although 4L65E and 4L70E converters do not interchange with earlier non-65/70 models).

Yes i count it right. The problem is the torque converter. When i bought the transmission it came with that converter, but it looks it was "change"....... :x :x :x

The point is i need a torque converter....

I found a converter from another 4L60e in the junkyard..... And also found rear gears from a S10.
The gears are 4.1 ratio.... This ratio is good??????

Ok, i already have installed the transmission. Just minor work with the crossmember. My doubt here is about the electrical conector for the lock up of the converter. The old TH200c has a conector with just one pin, but the TH700R4 has 3 pins. What i have todo here.... Also any idea with the drive shaft, how much to shorten...

Thanks...
