I have a 700r4 transmission and was wondering could I change the filter while the transmission is upside down and it is drained of the fluid? THANKS

It'll be fine, better actually because you'll be able to get the pan rails 100% clean, when the trans is upright (installed) the fluid always likes to run down and collect right where the gasket goes, making it very hard to get an oil-free seal.
