Hey guys just wondering what guys are running for rear end gears and tire size when running a glide. I just installed a glide with brake and 5500 converter in my 79 malibu with BBC 468 car weighs 2840# no driver any input would be awesome.

What is the approximate horsepower and torque output of your engine?

Any power adders?

What is your E.T. and MPH goal in the 1/4 mile?

Where do you want your engine RPM at the finish line in the 1/4 mile?

Hp?? Car went 11.32@121 in 6500+ altitude trapping 6600 with 4500 stall no brake. My main concern is trap rpm cam is good to 7400 it has a pro lll Hughes converter that prolly should be sent in and backed off to 5000

Thanks for the additional information. I ran the numbers and came up with a rear gear ratio range in the 4.30 - 4.88 range for your combination. If you're looking to make a change then I would split the difference and install a 4.56 ratio. The increase in gear ratio is actually going to improve your converter efficiency, so I would make a ratio change before making any adjustments to the converter. A 4.56 ratio should net you right around 7,000 - 7,200 RPM through the 1/4 mile traps.
