Can't go wrong with an ATI, but I do run a cutom built Art Carr in my Malibu. It works great, not bad on the street (5000 stall) and was about half the price of my ATI.

We can help you with a converter if you're interested. Keep in mind that advertised stall speed ratings are not going to be accurate for a combination such as yours. You will likely be disappointed if you pick a converter out of a catalog based on advertised stall speed ratings. We can build a custom unit for your combination for a very reasonable price. I also offer discounts for forum members since we are a site sponsor. Call, e-mail, or PM me if you would like a quote or if there is anything that I can help you with.

Thanks,

Pete

i just got my converter through pete at hughes, saved some big cash and they custom made it for my car with all my specs. couldnt have asked for more, super friendly, they walk you right through everything and it was at my door just a day or two later. highly recommend hughes dude, no b.s.

keep in mind that hughes makes converters taylored to your car, tci is super pricey and they just make a bunch of off the shelf converters, waiting to sell you.

Our GM30 torque converter is a great choice for your combination. This is our Pro Street series 10" torque converter. This converter will provide 2,300 - 2,400 RPM of footbrake stall speed and 2,600 - 2,800 RPM of flash stall speed with your combination. This converter will provide outstanding drivability and performance, and is an ideal choice for regular street use. MR.com member price on this converter is $323.10.

I recommend installing torque converter part number 21-35L. This is our Street/Strip series 10" lock-up torque converter for the 200-4R, and features an advertised stall speed rating of 3,500 RPM. This converter will provide 2,500 - 2,800 RPM of footbrake stall speed and 3,000 - 3,300 RPM of flash stall speed with your combination. This converter will provide outstanding performance with your combination while still retaining good street driving characteristics. By using the lock-up feature you can have the best of both worlds... higher stall speed to maximize performance potential, and lock-up for efficient cruising characteristics. MR.com member price on this converter is $522.11.
