wonder if that is true if someone forget to pour trans fluid into torque converter before putting in trans, the car would not move. Right now, I checked the shifting, cable, and the fluid level. The car would not move at all. I pulled
the pan off to check the filter. Looks normal. I am thinking about pulling the trans to see if the torque converter is dry or not. It is a 2500 stall and the trans was pulled out of my other car that was driven everyday. Also, when the car is in park, which i think so, the car would still roll. Any suggestion?

before i knew better (lol), i had made the same mistake by not filling the converter. the only ill effect it had for me was it took longer to fill the trans up...but i always added fluid 5-7 qts before i started the car..i have done this a few times mostly stockish stuff...are you sure the converter was in all the way and free when you bolted the trans up??..i think it crushes the front pump, which equals a dead trans.if its not all the way in...good luck

It's best to add at least 1qt. to the TC before startup but, it wont kill the TC or Trans if you don't.
As said above if the TC isn't installed correctly it can/will trash the Pump gear. Normally spinning & pushing to make sure the Input Shaft splines, Stator splines and Pump lugs/splines engage, you should feel/hear 3 clicks/clunks when doing this. Should have 1/8" to 3/16" between TC & flexplate before sliding the TC forward to bolt up to Flexplate.

Since you have no gears or Park you should check the Manual linkage inside the Trans. To check if the Pump is working, check the fluid level before & after engine startup, fluid level should drop after startup. You can also remove a line from the Radiator to check for flow.
