i have a manual valve body th350 and when i put it from neutral to 1st it make a terrible clicking or clunking sound. but if i put it from neutral to reverse it doesnt make any sound. does anyone have any idea what this could be? the driveshaft looks good but i am going to pull it out tomorrow to double check it.

i was told it might be that the case is worn inside and i can put a case saver in. how true is this and how strong is this? it is in a low 11 second car and i dont want it breaking if i use one

any help would be great thanks

There are 2 different ones, one is a small cheap spring & Tab and one is a Modded Support, much better but not cheap, used for severe wear & strength, requires other parts as well.
Part #413 & #824>> http://www.automaticchoice.com/Catalogue/th350.pdf and here > http://adapt-a-case.com/a74761dac.html

More Info here on the 2 cheap pieces 'Anti Clunk Spring & Case Saver' >> http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/T-350_Rebuild_tech

I DO NOT recommend the screw on plate. i had this in my trans and the screws backed out and ate up the case. be careful. and yes they were lock tited and all...

and thank you for the info LETSDRG i think i will just swap cases once i pull it out and stick it on the shelf as a spare.

but i am hoping it will be ok until i get the th400 in.
