th350???

I just had my th350 rebuilt, and now it has no second gear....
What could it be???
Everything else works, But second ](*,)

O I forgot to add that He made it fully manual...
But I don't get that it has no second gear....
He tells me,, it has to come back out,, and he needs to tear it down again....
I was just wondering if it could be something in the valve body???? :?

If it makes a 1st to 3rd & 3-1 shift the Intermediate roller clutch may be in backwards or damaged.
It would have all shifts manually tho', with stock Vbody.

We pulled the trans back out, Whent threw it all...
Everything looked good...
I bought A cheetah full manual valve body...(when we had it out) Put that in...
Fired it up and the same thing... #-o ](*,)
No second gear?????
Just first to third????? ](*,) #-o

So gonna play with it after work....
Where would you start?????

Make extra sure the shifter is adjusted and not traveling over too far or too short.


"Intermediate roller clutch may be in backwards or damaged" in a 400TH you can put them on backwards, or if you have the 34 element sprag like a 400TH.

Did it function okay before the manual valve body?

Does it have reverse?

I did one the other day, loosing pressure the stator in the front pump had a fracture in it, under the bearing on the back side of the pump. Everything else had checked out, it just air check funny for no reason. That's where my pressure loss and variation came from.



I am interested in his process for:
"O I forgot to add that He made it fully manual..."

Like plug the governor passage, lock out the throttle pressure valve, lock up the manual low valve...?

It does have all the gears, but second....
When I go from first to second,, It just stays in first, Then when I go to drive it goes right to drive.... No delay no slip no nothing Just a nice hard hit to drive...
It had the same problem with the stock V/ body...
Cable is adj the proper way...
As per the Intermediate clutch I'm Cant speak for that...(as my uncle did all that work prier to me getting their)...

"As for Him making it fully manual" I will have to ask him what He did to it...(I think he did some things in the stock V/body) B4 I just went and bought the fully manual one that cheetah makes (turbo Action I think)....

He found the problem.. \:D/

The governor was sticking (replaced with another one and all is working)
