loosening front control arms and double nutting

Who here has loosened thier front control arms and double nutted them?

Is this safe on a street car? loctite? how loose?

I'm guessing it would be to allow more motion for drag racing, but why risk it? I don't think there's enough threaded end to double nut it, but if you loosen them up enough to allow the bushing sleeve to move freely on the cross shaft, eventually it'll just wear the sleeve/shaft out. That could get dangerous over time. I'd get some sort of solid bushings like Delrin that can be lubed.

In the past, I backed all my suspension mount nuts off some. Not loose, just not pinching the bushings completely. They are all lock nuts (or should be) so they shouldn't back off. It did allow to the car to react quicker. It was a street car and drove it for years like that. Most people way over tighten them anyway and always seem to do it with the car in the air and suspension at full drop. Of course, it's up to you to determine what is safe.
