I just picked up a set of 47180 trick springs and i was told i should cut them before i install them because of the hassle they are taking them in and out. So i went ahead and removed 3/4 of a coil.

Now i measured to the middle of the wheel well and it was 26" so i removed the front stock coils which were both broken. I installed the cut new trick springs and it now sits at 28 1/2 " high looks like a gasser and i read lots about people saying it jacked them up and they werent happy with the result so they had them out to cut them again.

Now im wondering how long it will take to settle? i just have it parked for now and i imagine it would go down over time but it sure seems stiff i can barely get any travel out of it

i just took mine out a week ago. They were the big block ones and they settled so much in less than a year that the car was just about sitting on the stoppers. They were uncut. I stuck them in a small block car i'm building but there is no motor in it yet.

i can't remember the part numbers, but there are 2 sbc options, and i got the heavier of the 2 options. my car dropped by at least an inch compared to the v6 springs i had in there. i didn't cut them at all.

Put a couple iron BBC cylinder heads on the rad support for a week. Or get the right springs as mentioned by inthe10s.
