I have a '84 Monte Carlo and am in the process of swapping in a NOS dash and will also be adding Auto Meter gauges in the doghouse area. I need a new headlight switch bracket as mine is broke, like most do...and I'm wondering if I can use the bracket from the 86-88 ones. It looks like both brackets have the same mounting points....the later bracket is stronger then the earlier ones, not sure if there are any clearance issues with using the later switch with the earlier bezel...

Joe from what I can see...you can use the 86-88 bracket as long as you use an 86-88 bezel face. Measuring from the bottom of the bezel to the center of the hole for the headlight switch knob/shaft there is a 1/4" difference...which I think may be enough to give you grief.
