78 armrests different than 79-81?

I just picked up two saddle tan armrests at Carlisle. They're marked "78 Malibu" & they looked like the right ones, but they're shaped a little differently. They're not "square" at the back where they meet the plastic part of the armrest molded into the door panel, they're angled. Anyone know if 78 had a different armrest/door panel than the rest of the years, or are these for a different body style?

From my quick google search of pictures, it look as if they were all the same. OPGI says all of the 78 and up ones interchange. I wonder if these ones are perhaps the rear arm rests from a 4 door? They may be different?

After looking through my 1980 info, I think I may have an idea as to what these armrests are for. It looks like the Sedan (4 door) front door panels are shorter than the coupe. Maybe the armrests I have are for a Sedan? Anybody have photos of a Sedan front door panel showing the armrests?
