Hi guys I got some new seats for my El Camino recently. They are from a 95 Camaro the Drivers side is power and the passenger is manual, I'm not sure what else to say but I'm pretty happy with them so I figured I'd post them up in case anyone else was wondering if they worked or how they'd look in a G-body.
My daily driver is a 98 Camaro so I knew I liked the seats it was just a matter of finding a really good set locally that were dark grey/black.

This is what I started with (after my bench seat was removed) '91 Ranger Seats

Then I pulled one out and started to clean up the interior to get ready for the interior.

The first one took a long time to get in there...it was easier to get to the passenger side while the car was in the garage because the drivers side is by the wall of the garage.

Almost finished, just have to put the carpet back down.

All done, it took me about 2 days to do all the work, and I still have to run a power wire to the drivers side and attach the switch plate. In the pic it is just resting in place.

Did they just bolt right in, and sit at pretty much the right height? I've got a "spare" 86 Z28 with decent seats in it that I might swap over to either the 79 malibu or 86 el camino...

My car doesn't have the factory floor or the factory seat brackets...from my research I've read that the 3rd Gen Fbody seats will bolt onto the G-body rails and then into the car with no modifications. I've also heard that these 4th gen Fbody seats can be put in a 3rd gen with no modifications so I think they can work in a Gbody just fine. Good luck, my console is out of an IROC Camaro so if you have a "spare" one of those it'd work too :)

I've got 3 3rd gens... one with 4th gen seats (yes, they bolt right in, and I also made the inflatable lumbar and power adjusters work).

I didn't notice the console until you pointed it out, but it looks good! I might see about doing that as well! Was it easy to transplant the shifter - or was it already a floor shift?

It was a column shift car, I just bought a B&M star shifter (I think, its been almost 10 years). They use a cable and its really easy to install. I also used the parking brake handle from the Camaro and used a Lokar parking brake kit to make it work correctly. It really isn't too hard to do, as you know the power seats just need a hot and ground. That was a snap as well because all the door and window switches are in my console already and I had 12V there.
