i found a forged steel 350 sbc crank that is std/std for $125.00. would this be a better crank than a scat 9000 series crank, or would the scat be better? rpm should be no more than 6,500 & i'm using probe pistons & scat 5.7 i beam rods.

Given the choice between forged and cast I'm going to go forged - BUT - the choice is going to be yours. I don't know what you application is but it will influence what you buy. Check out this article I think it will help you -- Google (How to Pick a Crankshaft) Car Craft - Hot Rod

the thing i keep reading about the gm 1182 crank is they don't have much of a fillet radius & are bad to crack & break. then there are the other people saying they turned the 8500 rpm for the past 200 years & never had a problem. lol

My dragster has a 1182 leaving off a brake @ 5000 and the back up motor has one too. My regal on the other hand has a scat crank and it's been in there for seven seasons (foot brake just north of 450 hp)
